Therapy services

Individual therapy for adults and young people (13-years onwards) as well as couples therapy.

My approach is collaborative and skills-based. I support clients not only within sessions, but also between them, through reflective exercises, resources and practical tools that help strengthen well-being and support lasting change. These are always optional and tailored to your needs.

A key part of my work is psychoeducation – helping clients understand the approaches we use together so that therapy becomes something you actively participate in. I am eager to educate my clients about the approaches I use and help them gain transferable skills to flourish in their lives.

Integrative therapy

Integrative therapy combines different therapeutic approaches and techniques, tailoring them to each client’s unique needs, context, and lived experience. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model, it offers a flexible and responsive way of working.

In my practice, there is usually a primary framework – most often Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), particularly Rational Emotive Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (RECBT/REBT) – which is complemented by other approaches as appropriate. This creates a structured yet individualised and person-centred therapeutic process.

My approach

My work is integrative, collaborative and culturally responsive. I see clients as active participants in their own process, with existing strengths, knowledge and resources. Therapy is shaped together, taking into account your personal context, identity and life circumstances.

The goal is not only to reduce difficulties but to support meaningful, sustainable change – helping you build skills, insight and confidence that extend beyond therapy and into your everyday life.

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) teaches people how to overcome past, present and future problems by focusing on and changing presently unhealthy beliefs. CBT helps people to develop an approach to life that can increase their wellbeing in many areas of life.

For example, in the UK, CBT is used extensively for many mental health problems by the NHS and is recommended by NICE (National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence).

CBT has been very successful in the treatment of anxiety disorders and depression. Anxiety-related disorders include generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), phobias, panic disorder, eating disorders and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).

Rational emotive cognitive behavioural therapy (RECBT)

Rational emotive cognitive behavioural therapy (RECBT, also known as REBT) is one form of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). It offers a therapeutic structure helping the client to achieve long-lasting emotional and behavioural change. RECBT helps you to overcome your challenges and implement healthy and realistic thinking and behaviour in your life. Even later on, the client can then apply this approach to all areas of their life that they find challenging.

Cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy can deepen the CBT process and thus help clients make the desired changes in their lives. It is a safe and natural way of using our inner resources to reorganise our thoughts and behaviours. The process is based on your willingness and motivation. There are absolutely no side effects of hypnotherapy. You can then also learn how to use self-hypnosis techniques, for example, to relieve stress and anxiety.

One of my clients wrote about her experience like this:

"I have also explored hypnotherapy with Mia, and in one hypnotherapy session, have been able to master a 16-year addiction. I was surprised how different hypnotherapy was from my initial expectations – it is both led by me and performed on an entirely conscious level. Totally different to the perceptions I had about hypnotherapy that centered on someone taking control of my mind. It's just not like the movies!!"  32-YEAR OLD LADY

UK NHS website explains hypnosis as follows: "Hypnotherapy uses a deep, relaxed state and goal-directed suggestions to help you towards your agreed goals, for example, when you want to quit a certain habit. You are fully in control under hypnosis, and you don’t have to take on any of the therapist’s suggestions if you don’t want to. You can bring yourself out of the state during the hypnosis if you need to.  Hypnosis doesn't work if you don't want to be hypnotised."

Integrative CBT-REBT therapy, which includes hypnotherapy as part of the process, can be very effective. One client wrote about the impact of combined therapy and hypnotherapy this way:

"I have been working with Mia for almost two years through regular weekly sessions, and the impact on my life has been nothing short of transformational — both personally and professionally. --- Alongside CBT, the hypnotherapy sessions have been profoundly effective. With Mia’s guidance, I have achieved complete lifestyle turnarounds, overcoming long-standing addictive habits and behaviours developed over many years — including vaping, alcohol consumption, processed sugar, and ultra-processed foods. More recently, hypnotherapy has helped me successfully develop positive, sustainable habits such as regular studying for professional exams and qualifications, significantly improving my career focus, confidence, and long-term income potential."
